WHAT IS THE ENVIRONMENT AND WASTE IN THE INDUSTRIAL FACTORY
What is meant by Environment ..?
The Environment is a place where the collection of natural resources, humans, flora, fauna, water, air, land and other relationships in the surroundings operates.
Meanwhile, environmental impact is a change that occurs in the environment and is produced by the activities or activities of groups that operate, whether changes are beneficial or detrimental, partially or completely.
The Environment is the most important thing in human life for the sake of survival for eternity, both within the industrial factory community and outside the industrial factory community, namely the wider community.
In the company or factory community, the environment is one of the most important things that can affect the future of the factory's operations.
Because the impact of a bad environment will have a negative impact on the area around the factory, including community members, the management or management of environmental management in the factory really requires an active role from the factory's internal sector, namely factory workers and an active role from the external sector, namely the government or auditors as a direct supervisor of environmental developments in the factory periodically.
One of the things that affects the good and bad conditions of an environment in an industrial plant is the waste generated by the routine activities of the components in the industrial plant.
Every company or factory that operates must produce waste that directly interacts with the environment which can cause pollution in environmental aspects so that the environmental area of the factory becomes unhealthy.
Industrial factory waste is the residual end result produced by the impact of production activities in the factory environment, be it the activities of production machines or humans as workers in the industrial factory.
The following are forms of factory waste that are generated from the impact of operating a factory:
1) SOLID WASTE
Solid waste is one of the waste elements contained in the factory environment, whether produced by the factory, originating from the residual or ex-production process or non-production in the form of solid objects.
There are forms of solid waste in factories that can be recycled again and some that cannot be recycled.
Solid waste goods that can be recycled are usually reprocessed by factories that collaborate with the waste producing plants.
Meanwhile, solid waste that cannot be recycled is usually destroyed through burning.
The following is an example of solid waste resulting from the rest of the production process:
- Metal, metal waste can be produced by factories engaged in automotive, machinery, installation, workshop, etc.
- Wood, wood waste can be produced by industrial factories engaged in furniture, paper factories, etc.
- Paper, paper waste can be produced by industrial factories engaged in printing, paper factories, etc.
- Rubber, Rubber waste can be produced by industrial factories engaged in the automotive sector, transportation equipment, etc.
- Used objects to package production materials such as plastics, wood and iron.
- Used objects to package solid materials such as sacks, bags, cardboard, etc.
- Used objects for packing liquids such as drums, derigines, bottles, balk, etc.
- Used objects for food and beverage packaging such as beverage cans, rice wrappers, bread wrappers, drink bottles, cigarette wrappers, coffee wrappers, candy wrappers, etc.
- The company's management implements a policy of protecting the environment with a culture of maintaining 5S (Seiri / Brief, Seiton / Neat, Seisou / Resik, Seiketsu / Rawat, Shitsuke / Diligent).
- Implementing a goods arrangement system with 3T (Right for Use, Right Place and Right Number)
- Implementing the centralization of bins in each department or section.
- Implementing a cultural system for workers to dispose of waste in a place that has been determined and according to the type of identity of each waste.
- Making trash bins with identity classifications according to the types of waste.
- From the centralization of waste in each department, it is sent to a special centralization of waste in the factory environment (the last garbage post).
- The waste that has been centralized at the last post is immediately sent outside the industrial factory environment so that it does not accumulate in the factory environment and can immediately be processed outside by company partners, either to be recycled or destroyed.
- The company's management implements a policy of protecting the environment with a culture of maintaining 5S (Seiri / Brief, Seiton / Neat, Seisou / Resik, Seiketsu / Rawat, Shitsuke / Diligent).
- Implementing a system of structuring liquid goods with 3T (Appropriate, Right Place and Right Amount)
- Make a pit in each production machine that uses liquid, with the aim that when a leak occurs, the oil will automatically be collected in the pit and not contaminate the surrounding area.
- Immediately deal with small leaks in the production machine so that there will be no more fatal leaks.
- Make a protection or safety pit, if there is a liquid leak in the factory environment, the leak cannot go out to the outside environment or to the community around the factory.
- Increase environmental inspection activities in factory internal.
- Do not dispose of residual fluid from the production process outside the factory environment.
- Manufacture of a waste disposal pipe chimney whose height is in accordance with the local government policy standards.
- Greening the environment around the factory by planting trees to neutralize odorous gases and dust.
- Protects the spread of dust and gas that extends to the environmental area around the factory.
- Make regular improvements or repairs that can neutralize gas and dust pollution conditions.
